We operate with urgency, professionalism, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. The Business Manager plays a critical role in ensuring organizational systems, compliance, financial administration, and student support operations function efficiently and effectively.
Position Overview
The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating key administrative, financial, compliance, and operational systems across SailFuture’s education and youth development programs. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
The Business Manager serves as a central administrative leader supporting finance, HR, compliance, student services, and organizational operations. The ideal candidate is highly dependable, systems-oriented, proactive, and capable of maintaining high standards in a mission-driven environment serving vulnerable youth.
Core Responsibilities
Financial & Administrative Operations
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
Process and reconcile organizational expense reporting, including Ramp expenses
Support budgeting, invoice tracking, and financial documentation
Coordinate vendor communication and payment processing
Maintain organized financial and administrative records
Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and financial compliance documentation
Human Resources & Personnel Administration
Coordinate and track employee background screenings
Maintain staff personnel files and employment documentation
Support onboarding and offboarding processes
Ensure compliance with licensing and personnel documentation requirements
Track credentialing, certifications, trainings, and renewals
Student & Program Administration
Manage SUFS enrollments, withdrawals, invoicing, reconciliation, and audit preparation
Oversee Free and Reduced Lunch administrative processes and documentation
Administer WIOA-related documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements
Maintain student/client files in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Assist with state, educational, and programmatic reporting requirements
Compliance & Operational Oversight
Coordinate fire inspections, health inspections, and related compliance follow-up
Maintain business tax licenses and organizational compliance records
Manage asset maintenance schedules and operational logs
Track facility and operational compliance deadlines
Maintain organized documentation for audits, licensing reviews, and inspections
Organizational Support
Support leadership with administrative projects and operational initiatives
Assist with internal systems development and process improvement
Coordinate communication across departments to ensure operational continuity
Maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff, and organizational information
Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned
Qualifications
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Experience with bookkeeping, financial administration, or office management preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and follow-through
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and administrative systems
Experience working in education, nonprofit, youth-serving, or compliance-heavy environments preferred
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
3-5 years experience

$65,000 annual salary
