The SailFuture Academy Mental Health Counselor serves as a compass for our students to learn how work through their life circumstances and build a tool kit to self-actualize.
Responsibilities:
- Document all activities in the progress notes database, including:
- group therapy sessions
- 1-1 sessions
- crisis interventions
- family / home visits
- Maintain an active caseload of a minimum:
- 12 youth receiving weekly individual therapy
- 16 youth participating in weekly group therapy
- Develop after school adventure therapy programming in line with the school’s mission
- Develop treatment plans and facilitate treatment team meetings
- Develop behavior plans for students with chronic behavioral issues and lead reconciliation meetings between students, families, and staff
- Provide trauma-focused training and support to faculty and staff
- Assist with student transportation
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree, or higher, from an Accredited College or University in a related field
- Active Florida Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Registered Intern
- 1-2 years experience
- Excellent communicator and problem solver
