Whatever It Takes Crew
As a crew member on Sailing Yacht Whatever It Takes you will have the opportunity to work in of departments including the Bridge, Deck, Galley, Interior, and Engineering. Your role will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the vessel, providing an exceptional experience for all passengers and crew.
Department Descriptions
Bridge
Role: Navigational Officer/Watch Keeper
Responsibilities:
- Assist with navigation and piloting of the vessel.
- Monitor and operate navigation and communication equipment.
- Ensure safe passage by adhering to maritime regulations and weather conditions.
Keep accurate logs and reports of navigational activities.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth vessel operations.
Deck
Role: Deckhand
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of deck areas.
- Handle mooring lines and assist with docking and undocking procedures.
- Manage and store equipment and supplies.
- Assist with cargo handling and securing.
- Conduct safety drills and ensure all safety equipment is in working order.
Galley
Role: Cook
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for crew and passengers.
- Plan and manage food inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked and fresh.
- Maintain a clean and organized galley, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
- Coordinate with the interior department to cater to special dietary needs.
- Assist with meal planning and special events as needed.
Interior
Role: Steward/Stewardess
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of interior spaces, including cabins and common areas.
- Provide housekeeping services and manage laundry tasks.
- Assist passengers with requests and ensure their comfort and satisfaction.
- Manage inventory of interior supplies and amenities.
- Coordinate with the galley for meal service and special events.
Engineering
Role: Marine Engineer/Technician
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair the vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems.
- Monitor and operate engines, generators, and other machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience or certifications in each department.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and often challenging environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to maritime regulations.
Working Conditions:
