Are you passionate about reimagining education and helping to build a legacy project? The SailFuture Academy is recruiting for a school start-up associate to work alongside one of the school founders to focus on community relations, school culture, and daily operations.
The ideal candidate is excited to be on the ground floor of building a new school and is seeking an opportunity to work closely with an experienced leadership team to grow personally and professionally.
An entrepreneurial spirit, a passion to bring the Academy’s mission and vision to life, and an ability to build meaningful relationships will be critical to success in this role.
Job Description
This position will work under the direction of one of the school founders and focus on student recruitment, school culture, and daily operations.
Near-term objectives include:
• Lead efforts for the recruitment of next year’s incoming class of fifty 9th-grade students
• Building new relationships with community partners to elevate the school’s presence in the community
• Supporting school culture efforts and responding to student behavioral needs
• Assisting with compliance and accreditation
About the SailFuture Academy
The SailFuture Academy is a hands-on career preparatory high school in central St. Petersburg. We are the first and only career prep school that leverages project-based learning and paid apprenticeships to prepare students to enter the real world equipped with the skills and mindset to achieve economic freedom.
• Rigorous math, science, english, and business coursework
• Twice per week immersions in construction, maritime, and culinary projects
• Integrated Life Skills curriculum teaching youth how to lease an apartment, buy a car, and open a bank account

Responsibilities:
• Assist efforts for student recruitment and enrollment
• Attend leadership meetings with School Founders
• Assist teacher training and onboarding
• Assist in school culture efforts, including the implementation of student professionalism scores and the crew system
• Manage student bussing and transportation logistics
• Assist in developing the framework and criteria for competency-based high school graduation
• Act as the primary point of contact for student families
• Assist with DOE, SUFS, and accreditation compliance efforts
• Assist with recruiting community partners and volunteers
• Build and steer a positive school culture rooted in our core principles
• Assist in developing strategic partnerships with middle schools for enrollment
Compensation:
• $40,000 - $45,000
• $250 per month employee health contribution
• 401k with up to a 6% match
• 12 days PTO (accrual)

SailFuture operates a provides wraparound services for 14-22 year old youth in foster care in St. Petersburg, Florida. We take pride in our reputation as an innovative organization that brings thoughtful and effective solutions to a strained and broken foster care system.
Our integrated continuum includes case management, residential care, challenging sailing experiences, a private school, job training, and behavioral health services.
