Foster Care Behavior Specialist

Behavior Specialists are responsible for supervising and transporting 13 - 17 year old youth in foster care who are emotionally dysregulated.

The goal of this position is to provide long-term, dedicated support to high-risk teens that leads to behavior change and greater stability.

Our teens’ behaviors oftentimes prevent them from finding stable homes, and the absence of a consistent home prevents them from living a normal childhood while in foster care.

Our case management team addresses this challenge by meeting our teens where they are at and guiding them through the foster care system with a deep compassion and thoughtful and consistent approach to parenting and conflict management.

Behavior Specialists must be motivated to build meaningful and impactful relationships with teens who are in a state of crisis and instability.

The right candidate must be comfortable driving their personal vehicle for work purposes and reimbursed for mileage.

SailFuture recognizes that the behaviors and outbursts we see with teens in foster care are a symptom of a systemic problem, not an indication of a child’s potential, worth, or character. Do not apply for this position if you do not share this belief and you are not authentically committed to our kids.
